There is a lot of evidence that if poker players have bad habits, their lives are done.  For instance, a poker player had the habit of betting on sports.  He used to sit at home and watch football instead of playing poker.  Even at the table, he concentrated on the television sets, watching football.  He neither won the betting nor did he win the hands in his game.  As a result of this, he suffered from a money crunch for twenty, long years.
