Bluffing, in poker, is the ability to fool other players into believing that you have a better hand than you actually have.  If you use this ability effectively, then you can reap big rewards in poker.  Below are some tips to help you bluff effectively.  It is best to bluff when someone just had a good hand.  For example, when the table thinks that someone has a flush and they find out that it is not the case, then is the best time to bluff, because they might believe you.  If your opponents in the pot are looking for a reason to fold, then you can play a bigger bet and lure them into believing that you have something that they can not match, and, hence, you take them out of the game.

It does not make sense to bluff in low-limit games, because the stakes are too small.  If you bluff in high-stake games, then the rewards are going to be higher.  Also, people would be more cautious and may opt to fold in case of a successful bluff.  It is advised to bluff late in the round, because you cannot call a bluff when you have not seen the bets that are being placed by the other players.  Bluffing too often in a pattern also causes an adverse effect, because your opponents can spot your bluffs pretty easily.  It is better to bluff in a random or irregular fashion, so that your opponents will not be able to spot your bluffs.  You should not bluff bad or inexperienced players.  The reason for this is that even if you present yourself as having a strong hand, they might not notice or care.

Bluffing is not easy, and in most of the situations, bluffs are evident to the experienced players who can use it against you.  Bluffing is an art, and with sufficient practice and experience the above tips will help you to put the bluffing method to more effective use.

The confidence level of the player is the psychological factor that begets aggressiveness. The strength of the hand is the other factor that boosts aggressiveness. If the player has low confidence levels, and if he is apprehensive about the negative factors, these tend to become real, and the negative factors are reflected in the game.

He should use the fold equity on two conditions, when his cards are reasonably good and to play against opponents who will call down on him. He can make them fold, and thereby increase the strength of his hand. When the hand is not good, he should observe his opponents and try to analyze the cards held by them by how they play them. This means understanding the opponent’s strategies and the approach used by them. It is beneficial to know their draw rate, to know the cards they hold. If the opponents love to play draws, they will keep calling draws toward the river. In such a case, we can bet it out.
