Hold’em, or Texas Hold’em, has been sweeping the nation and bringing a whole new generation into the world of poker. You find Hold’em everywhere since it first appeared. It lined the store shelves, and in nearly any store you walked in, there was a display of Hold’em t-shirts, mugs, card games, and various merchandise at eye level. Now, it is a major game on all the online poker websites.
I had, naturally, heard of Hold’em, but had never broken down and bought the card game before I found it online. I was intrigued, so I decided to try one of websites for online poker. I joined five different sites to get a feel for the sites and the games they offered, as I am a novice at poker. The sites I joined were pokerstars.com, fulltilt.com, carbonpoker.com, absolutepoker.com, ultimatebet.com, and acedpoker.com.
I really liked playing Hold’em, but it was harder for me to keep track of my cards, compared to playing Omaha. Omaha actually has four holding cards compared to Hold’em, which has two holding cards. Omaha is faster moving than Hold’em and was easier for me to catch on to than Hold’em. If you are a novice like I am, you may find starting out with Omaha may be easier for you to learn before moving on to Hold’em.
