Your favorite pokers are being interviewed by Off-the-Felt find out all about their life. Off-the-Felt sat down recently with Annette Obrestad. They talked about fashion, little poker, & whom she would always like to bust off the tournament.
Off-the-Felt: How did u start with playing poker?
Annette: I started at 15 years of age. I played the bowling league pretty seriously every week for about a while. Once, while watching bowling on Television, I saw a Multpoker.com banner displayed on one of the lanes. At once, I grew curious to check it out, as I frequently played cards with mom & dad since two years of age. I began to play seven-card stud hi/lo and money sit-n-gos. I thought, I was pretty good at them. But, to my astonishment, no-limit hold’em had become part of History.
What would be your profession, if not poker player?
I would, most probably still be indulged in school studying or maybe working as an interior decorator or some job along those lines. But, I would never be as happy as of now.
What’s your most favorite stop on tournament circuit?
It’s really a hard choice for me. I say Vegas, as I could make the WSOP. But I was never at the event, so my second closest choice will be Aussie Millions, London.
Whom would you enjoy busting off the tournaments?
(Laughs) Of course, people who speak big games and think to be the best. Or when someone is absolutely in my hand & they know that they have to walk away shaking their heads.
Come on, do you love to bust any poker in particular?
It’s rather a tough question, but I would always want to bust off Phil Hellmuth, a tournament simply to experience his reaction. Honestly speaking, I feel bad, to knock out my friends and known people.
Ok, shall we will pick up Hellmuth for next question.
(Laughs) K.
What do you prefer? Busting Hellmuth or grabbing new Versace purses before they come out?
(Laughs) Busting Hellmuth, Ah! It’s no more that important. I could do anything Versace purses. After all I’m a girl.
Where do you like touring while vacation?
I love to travel cruises. I’m not too specific about a particular place. However, Thailand’s great.
Facebook or Twitter?
Twitter. Facebook is over crowded by now.
Railing a fashion show/poker event?
Railing poker? No way. I would like to rail Fashion show.
What do you prefer, flop the nuts or shop the nuts?
Damn. I shop only after Day3 of a tournament has passed by. Oh! God, I’m an addict.
Where would you like playing poker at nights, NBC or Hardrock?
Of course Hardrock! I felt a lot funny, the other night. I made huge ransom too.
Winning the WSOP Europe or any $4 tournament?
WSOPE. No chance of even getting close to it. No one can describe my feelings as the card fell as I knew I had made the tournament.
How much do you spend on these? Shoes prop bets and Credit card roulettes?
CCR: I spend a pretty good amount. The biggest amount, I had ever lost was $600. I was always part in nasty CCRs. Shoes: $1200-ish probably. Prop Bets: Sorel (Mizzi) won $7k from me in a bowling game.
What do you think; will you ever win a major poker-tournament again or will you ever be wearing high-end designer clothes?
You are in depth now. Poker is my career. I live to play poker. If I come to know, that no poker tournament is ever written in my name, I would get out of poker and ma life would become meaningless. Hence, no doubt about poker
So, Annette, thank you for being with us. Good luck!
