With dark clouds lingering over Portuguese coast, final 24 pokers remaining were back into the casino for Day 4 play. It never looked like they had come to play. Each one was guaranteed with some measure of pay. No one indicated the thrust of winning final table.
The beginning of the Day saw Table 2 certifiably insane. First orbit saw two knockouts as result of three aces’ show downs. The first player to be knocked out was Mohamed Razab -24th and just after few deals, Matt Johns – 23rd was down to 70,000 before being knocked out by Ricardo Sousa.
The pace of the game was not let down. Jim Collopy “Mr_BigQueso”’s ace-king succumbed to queen-jack from Ryan Franklin and Jim finished 22nd. Guillaume Silva Da’s jacks became victims of two queens from Santiago Terrazas and Silva finished 21st.
Moments later, madness picked up as the chip leader of the day involved with the largest pot till this point. As Antonio Matias overtook Antony Lellouche, Lellouche tangled Matias in 1,500,000 chips worth pot. However, Lellouche finished 20th. Within an hour of play, big stack had to fall.
The pace slowed down a bit as Joao Barbosa – 19th, Ricardo Sousa – 18th, & Javier Garcia – 17th got eliminated within an hour. However, players some what settled for the next 2.5 hours before the next round of elimination. Hugo Felix – 16th, Aurelien Guiglini – 15th and Ruben Visser – 14th were all out in a quick succession. PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth – 13th marked the IV knockout in just 30 minutes.
This day was written in the name of Matias and none other. Matias and remaining seven players will have their eyes firm on the EPT title as the day will be tough for everyone.
