This time the WPT concluded successfully and Cornel Cimpan has been declared the winner. Cornel Cimpan claimed the WPT title and also an amount exceeding 900 thousand dollars, after facing tough competition at the table.
The tournament action first began with a bang, Lee Marksholts dream of winning the WPT was shattered by Stout, in the second half of the play. Stout was sitting in the cutoff position and he raised 100,000. Marksholt was sitting at button and he raised all-in. Later due to some variations Marksholts had to quit. The third player who lost hopes in the game was Efro Forelich. This time the WPT became interesting in the final rounds, especially the former heads up winner Cimpan created a new record for the second time.
He defeated the best WPT poker player Shamseddin. Player who had the tough time in the game was none other than Stout. After Shamseddin had hit a full house he had crippled a full house. For the next time Stout turned king high flush and also ace to rebound but that couldn’t happen and he ended in third position. In the final hand of Stout Cimpan raised from button and he made it to 350,000. He got calls from Stout and Shamseddin and later he had some money left with him and he had chance to move further. Finally he had won the tournament.
